Welcome to Ms. Moore's Family and Consumer Sciences blog!

Inspired to help all of my students learn in and outside of class, I created this blog. I will post the recipes we make together, interesting links, and other tid-bits of information that I think you would enjoy reading about.

How to eat healthier at lunchtime

Eating lunch is something we all do 5 days a week at school.  It's very important to eat the healthiest foods because they give you the proper nutrients needed to function and learn throughout the day.  I know many middle school students have to purchase lunch in the cafeteria, but that shouldn't stop you from eating healthy!  Here are some suggestions on what to eat in the cafeteria:
  • Salad w/grilled chicken
  • Submarine sandwich w/lots of vegetables
  • Piece of fruit (apple, banana, or orange)
  • Low-fat milk or water
  • Carrots w/low-fat ranch dressing
  • Celery w/peanut butter
If you would like to check out the school's cafeteria menu, click here.
Please comment on what you like to purchase in the cafeteria that is healthy and nutritious!
